Answering a question about Jennifer Capriati's Sun Pluto.
Sun Pluto is about having not just a powerful father but one who is in complete control, especially true in Jennifer Capriati's case since she had a Mars Pluto father(see quotes below). Where there are no choices in life there is difficulty in establishing a personal identity. Individual identity is all about living out "I want". Not just in the sense of "I want" indulgences, but really becoming who you are. With Pluto tied into the Sun you become a pawn on the chessboard of the father's needs and wishes. The real you isn't allowed to exist so gets buried along with a great deal of anger and frustration which is all held in and thus turns into depression.

Newspaper quotes: "Capriati's story begins, like so many tennis stories, with a pushy father. Stefano was a former boxer and film stuntman who arrived in America determined to better himself. Her mother, Denise, was a Pan-Am stewardess who shared Stefano's upwardly-mobile aspirations. They joined a Long Island tennis club where Stefano, a self-taught player, became a coach. And when Denise became pregnant, in the summer of 1975, he used to encourage people to pat her stomach, saying "Feel! We have produced a future tennis champion!"
At five years old Capriati began taking lessons with Jimmy Evert, At nine Capriati she moved to be coached by Rick Macci at the International Tennis Academy in Florida. Every weekend her parents would drive three and a half hours for her training with Macci. After a year they decided to move to Grenelefe. Capriati attended public school daily from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and then practiced tennis from 2:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
"I felt like no one liked me as a person," Capriati said in an interview in 2004. "I felt like my parents and everybody else thought that tennis was the way to make it in life, they thought it was good, but I thought no one knew or wanted to know the person who was behind my tennis life."

Men on the whole handle Pluto when tied into the Sun, better than women who often stay submissive, replacing the father with some bully or jerk partner in adult life. Capriati's overdose appeared to coincide with her boyfriend saying he was going back to making adult porn movies. Clearly a charmer.
Her finding herself would be a long hard road. Heavy Pluto often goes along with a sense that the 'real you' is worthless, an object of contempt, so the person ends up feeling degraded, only of value if they live out the father's lifeplan. Becoming herself would mean psychologically facing up to the father's rage - whether he is around or not. The early patterns become implanted inside our heads so it's the internal battle which is key and in her case would be very frightening. Saying 'NO' to the Mars Pluto father feels psychologically as if survival is at stake. Separation from parents/parental patterns is difficult for most of us but much much more difficult in this kind of scenario.
Obviously she is an extreme example and others will have a more muted version of her struggle. My impression is it takes most/many women really into their forties - possibly after the tr Pluto square natal Pluto - to really begin to find their inner voice and live it out.
Tiger Woods has a Sun Pluto Jupiter which has made him a great star but at considerable personal cost to his development as a human being. Though Jupiter Pluto is admittedly easier than Mars Pluto.
Maggie Thatcher was a Sun Pluto Mars Jupiter and really became her father - more macho masculine than any man. Pluto is tricky for a woman to handle well in terms of feminine empowerment.
