Robert Byrd, the longest serving Senator/lawmaker in the US has died aged 92. Born 20 Nov 1917 at 2pm Wilkesboro, NC, USA he came from poor beginnings, fostered out to an aunt after his mother died when he was one. He started his political career in 1946 and became a Senator in 1959 and served ever since. He had a 9th house Sun in Scorpio and Mercury in Sagittarius so was well suited to the arena of law and giving him an overview of society. His Mercury was in an exact (to one minute) opposition to a confidently communicative Jupiter in Gemini in the 3rd squaring onto an impatient, rather scattered, hard working, meticulous Mars in Virgo in the 6th. His Aquarius Moon was conjunct Uranus and opposition Neptune Saturn in Leo - a fair description of his muddled, motherless childhood - though that opposition also was sextile/trine his Midheaven so he'd channel his energies towards his career. He also had a trapped Pluto in the 4th house of childhood. His Capricorn North Node was in the 10th opposition Pluto so again he pulled away from his difficult early beginnings to make his career in public life. Despite early leanings towards the Klux Klux Klan and anti-civil rights he did shift in time to a much more moderate outlook - perhaps a reflection of his Sun square Uranus which has a habit of flipping in outlook.
