Elena Kagan is Barack Obama's choice for the Supreme Court. She's right-ish though a firm advocate of gay rights, is unmarried and has never been a judge.

Born on 28th April 1960 she has quite a chart. She has a stalwart Taurus Sun in an Earth Grand Trine to Pluto in Virgo trine Jupiter in Capricorn so is very practical, earthy obviously, good with money I'd imagine. Her Sun is also in a close opposition to Neptune making that an even more talented Kite with visionary Neptune as the driving planet.

She's also got a disciplined, hard working Saturn in Capricorn sextile Mars in a wid-ish Yod to Uranus; with Uranus also the focal point of a Fixed T square onto that Sun opposition Neptune - so she's innovative but in a less disruptive way with Uranus being in Fixed signs, so just steady pressure for the changes she considers important. The Yod focal point Uranus(bit out of orb) will make her a catalyst and a trailblazer. From her wiki entry I gather she insisted her local synagogue gave her a bat mjitvah, the female version of a bar mitvah, the first they had ever done in the way she wanted. She was described then as 'strong minded and independent' which rather covers a strong Uranus.

Her feisty Venus Mercury in Aries are rather damped down by a square to Saturn. Her Gemini Moon may be square Pluto and could be sextile Uranus, even square Mars - so emotionally she's quite variable.

At the moment she's got tr Pluto conjunct her Jupiter and trine Pluto - two legs of the Grand Trine - and definitely looking successful. In general this year and next she's progressing well with tr Pluto sextile Sun/Jupiter as well. Admittedly tr Saturn will also square her Jupiter in late August which will be a setback and late October doesn't look too chirpy on the job front either. Depends really when the decision is made but she looks much more successful rather than less.
