Jon Venables, the Bulger killer, has been returned to prison on a two year sentence for child pornography. The tabloid media has as per usual been stirring up vengeful mob hatred over the whole affair. And Jaimie Bulger's mother attended the trial. Why? It's sick.
Take a kid from a sink estate from a wildly dysfunctional family who then - surprise surprise - acts out with tragic consequences. Try him in an adult court at 11 years of age. Institutionalise him through his formative years. Then turf him out with a 'new identity' which means whatever fragmentary connections he had from his past are now completely ruptured and he's expected to turn into a socially well adjusted adult.
I'm not sure what the answer would have been except that major psychotherapeutic support through his time inside which continued thereafter would have been a no brainer.
Born on 13 Aug 1982 (no birth time) he doesn't have that difficult a chart. A Leo Sun trine Neptune, sextile Saturn Pluto in Libra is reasonably bleak but not more so than many. He's also got a confident Mars Jupiter in Scorpio square Venus in late Cancer and sextile Mercury in Virgo. Though where the planets fall in houses from a birth time could make all the difference. His Moon in Gemini/Taurus was opposition Uranus - so he had an unpredictable erratic mother to add to a Neptunian and rather unyielding father.
At the moment he has strangely enough tr Pluto sextile his Jupiter which should be confident and his Solar Arc Jupiter conjunct his Uranus which does suggest some kind of a lucky break. Tr Neptune may also be squaring a late Taurus Moon if he was an early morning birth. Though a professional close to him did say that he was having such problems coping with life outside that 'The return to prison was something of a relief when it came.'
