There are so many conflicting and fanciful theories as to who the Man in the Iron Mask imprisoned in France from 1669 until his death in 1703 really was that it's impossible to say.
What is feasible is that he was Sun King Louis XIV's father. Louis XIV's putative father, Louis X111, was homosexual and the child appeared 23 years into a childless marriage so seems unlikely that he actually was the sperm donor. But even if the real father had only been 20 when doing the deed it would make him a stalwart late 80s when he died.
The mystery man who ended up in prison, only turned up three years after Louis XIV's mother had died, so it is a possibility that his claim to be the real papa would have been seen as a threat to the legitimacy of Louis XIV's claim to the throne.
Certainly the dates of the Man in the Iron Mask's incarceration and death do show up on Louis XIV's chart as fairly significant. Louis XIV was born on 5 Sep 1638 at 11.13am St Germain, France and he was a Sun Virgo; with a bleak Saturn in Aquarius trine Pluto in Gemini; and a Fixed T Square of Moon Venus in Leo opp Saturn square an expansive Jupiter in Scorpio.
In 1669 when the long prison sentence started Louis's chart shows relief and a confidence boost (tr Uranus sextile Jupiter, tr Jupiter tr Pluto trine Jupiter and opp NNode) with some underlying anxieties (tr Neptune conj Saturn, trine Pluto). When the man died in 1703 after 34 years inside Louis's chart had tr Jupiter trine Sun, tr Uranus opp Saturn, tr Uranus sextile Pluto - so again a mix of confidence, progress and quite a jolt. Although he was a King, he was also a man so whether it was his father or a brother it would tug at his heart strings at some deeper level.
