Tony Hayward has half fallen on his sword by resigning as CEO of BP though it says a good deal about conglomerate politics that he's been kept on by BP to help handle their Russian interests. Putting in an American CEO, Bob Dudley, from October will quell US ire but could upset Russian sensitivities since Dudley had to flee from there when he was in charge of BP Russia.
There's also pressure mounting to oust the invisible BP Chairman Carl Svanberg who let Hayward take all the flak through the oil spill.
Hayward (21 May 1957) has the jolting Solar Arc Saturn opposition his natal Uranus at the moment, bringing to a halt his grand ideas for reform. And tr Neptune this year is opposing his Pluto and is perhaps around the conjunction to his Moon, making him feeling as if he losing his power and standing on swampy ground. He's looking thoroughly gloomy and confused through 10/11 but bounces back on form by 2012.
His CEO chart (1 May 2007) shows up the timings much more pointedly even than his personal chart. When he took over there was a Jupiter Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius opposition Venus in Gemini square an explosive Mars Uranus in Pisces - so it was never going to be a smooth sail. The Oil Spill occurred when tr Uranus (opp tr Saturn) was exactly square that CEO Pluto - effectively upending it. When he leaves the top job on Oct 1, tr Uranus is back to the same degree on the square to Pluto ending his term. Tr Saturn has also moved to close to exact the opposition to Neptune on that CEO chart.
Interestingly his relationship chart with BP didn't show up as a complete rupture - more muddle, disappointment and a complete shift (tr Uranus trine comp Pluto).
When Bob Dudley (no birth date) takes over on Oct 1There's a Sun Saturn conjunction square Pluto opp Cancer Moon; with Mercury and (widely) Sun Saturn opp Uranus. So it's going to be a slow, hard haul to make progress over very bumpy terrain.
Chairman Svanberg, another Gemini, is having a frustrating, risky Aug to Oct with a look of high insecurity in his chart from Oct through till early 2011 so he may not last much longer. His Chairman chart has a Pluto Venus Sun in Capricorn square Saturn in Libra between 3 and 10 degrees Cardinal - so he's not going to survive too long with the influences of this year and next hitting all those key planets.
