Forum Articleback California - land of hope up a cul de sac

California is slowly grinding to a halt under its debt problem with no resolution in sight via a new budget which might help ease the matter. Governor Schwarzenegger says October is crunch point. He leaves office at the end of the year. The California chart (9 Sep 1850) certainly shows late October as bad tempered, blocked and high stress with tr Saturn conjunct the California Mars and heading to a depressed conjunction with Mercury in Nov this year. There's also a tremendous whammy of Solar Arc Uranus Solar Arc Pluto conjunct that Mars. If the California start time was 12 am then it hits exact in early Nov. but if mid day then into early 2011. Though Solar Arcs spread their shadow ahead of them so the pressure is building and building towards a complete meltdown. Arnold Schwarzenegger is certainly not a happy camper come late September/early October with a confused, uncertain tr Saturn conjunct his Solar Arc Sun and then natal Neptune. He leaves office with his Solar Arc Sun approaching the conjunction to his Neptune so his sense is going to be of failure. He also has tr Pluto conjunct his 6th house Moon at the moment till mid Aug and again mid Oct till late Nov which will put him under emotional and health strain. His Governorship chart (17 Nov 2003) always indicated a difficult tenure with an unsettling Sun square Uranus and worse a frustratingly stuck, irritable Pluto Venus square Mars and Mars trine Saturn. He took on California's highest office as tr Saturn was heading into his 1st house and first lower quadrant so it never looked like a high success time for him. With tr Neptune opposing his Saturn Pluto conjunction square Jupiter in the early years. All very slipping and sliding and no progress. Alison Lurie's presumably complimentary saying may well come to have uncomfortable undertones. 'As one went to Europe to see the living past, so one must visit Southern California to observe the future.' hide Marjorie's posts
