Bhutto Dynasty From: Marjorie. (30 Dec 2007 11:01): Useful background piece in today's Guardian on Benazir Bhutto - Pakistan's Flawed and Feudal Princess. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/story/0,,2233334,00.html. Which makes you realise what a different world exists in Pakistan politics - what the writer describes as 'elective feudalism', making the point that the rise of the Islamic parties is often to do with their support for the poor. Pakistan under Benazir Bhutto's premiership was named as one of the most corrupt financially, and hit the high ratings on Amnesty International's torture blacklist.
The family history is positively mediaeval: - One year after her father was executed in 1979, her brother Shahnawaz was allegedly poisoned in France. Her other brother Murtaza (18 Sept 1954), a militant trained in Afghanistan, openly challenged Benazir's premiership citing corruption especially of her husband Asif Ali Zardari ( 21 July 1956). He was shot by Pakistan police on September 20 1996, which was according to his family done on the orders of Benazir. His daughter Fatima Bhutto (29 May 1982), a poet and writer, has continued to wage a public campaign against her aunt.
Benazir's eldest son Bilawal (21 September 1988), born just before she was elected prime minister for the first time now studying at Oxford, is expected to take up the family's political mantle though he can't be elected until he is 25.
Bilawal is a late degree Virgo square Saturn Uranus in Sagittarius and Neptune in early Capricorn. So he's highly strung, part of the triple conjunction generation of the late 1980s/early 1990s whose lives are undergoing massive changes at the moment. Both 2007 Solar Eclipses hard-aspected his Sun and Saturn Uranus which does point to life-changing events. Neptune at 7 Cap also makes an exact square to Mars in Aries so the years 2011 and 2012 will be the most difficult and dangerous for him as the Pluto Uranus square hits that exactly. Pluto conjuncts Neptune and squares Mars in 2011 which is a devastating combination - and that continues into 2012 when it is much exacerbated by Uranus in testosterone-fuelled Aries conjunct his Mars and square Neptune - is explosive, fanatical, dangerous.
Fatima Bhutto is a Sun Mercury in Gemini trine Mars in Libra, and opposition Uranus in Sagittarius so is a natural born rebel, writer and activator. She has Saturn Pluto conjunct in Libra giving her endless and obsessive stamina. That opposes Venus and sextiles Neptune so she arguably channels her emotional pain into idealistic causes. Her Neptune squares Bilawal's Sun and conjuncts his Saturn Uranus so there will be suspicion of the other's motives; her Saturn Pluto also probably squares Bilawal's Capricorn Moon so there will be little empathy or sympathy for the other. Thus the curse of the House of Atreus (interesting Greek myth ending in the Orestia) will roll down another generation.

(27 Dec 2007 13:51): Tragically Benazir Bhutto's astrology with its' indications of a high risk time ahead proved all too accurate with reports that she has been shot dead today at a political rally. This week a highly excitable Sun Jupiter in Capricorn opposition Mars was likely to stoke up trouble especially since Mars retrograding into Gemini picks up the exact Pluto opposition on January 2nd - so this whole ten day period is fairly fraught. Below is what I wrote in mid October with the full postings to be found down the list.
Input 18 October 07: "Her interface with Pakistan for whom she has been PM twice is a strong though not easy one. Her Sun Mars conjunction is exceptionally close to Pakistan's volatile Uranus Mars conjunction so she will tend to bring up strong feelings, anger and in some cases even provoke violence. Her Pluto also falls within a degree of Pakistan's Sun, so she has the potential to transform the country but her methods will bring resentment especially from those who like the status quo. In the reverse direction she is drawn inexorably to Pakistan by her 8th house Pluto almost as if she believed this is a fated connection which must be fulfilled no matter what the cost or the danger. Her Uranus in Cancer falls within a degree of Pakistan's Moon so clearly she upsets notions about the position of women in the society.
Her immediate future will not be easy ……….. This November will be physically dangerous with Pluto trine her Mars/Saturn. December will bring dashed hopes and from late December she is impatient, frustrated and at risk. Pluto starts to oppose her Sun from late December for a year which will put her under tremendous pressure."

(19 Oct 2007 12:03): Benazir Bhutto's chart picked up the Pluto trine Mars/Saturn midpoint (27 Leo 46) a couple of weeks early as transitting Pluto reached 26Leo45 yesterday when carnage with many dead followed an assassination attack on her. The explosions show up her provocative effect on Pakistan with her Sun Mars conjunction sitting right on top of Pakistan's violent and disruptive Mars Uranus. If her birth time is absolutely accurate then Saturn was also conjunct Uranus/MC exactly which Ebertin describes as disadvantages through hasty or premature action and coming down to earth to face reality. It wouldn't take a clairvoyant to predict the dangers of organising a mass, triumphal return for such a controversial and polarising personality to a country already on a knife-edge, volatile state. Her Secondary Progressed Sun is conjunct her 8th house Pluto over coming months and will not clear the effects for another 18 months or so. Plus she faces really risky, tricky Pluto midpoint transits over the coming period - Pluto trine Mars/MC and Moon/Mars (both 29 Leo) from late December on and off for a year thereafter. Pluto opposes Sun/Mars in 2009 and 2010 and Pluto also opposes her Mars in 2010/2011.Perhaps this is also an indication of her Uranus Neptune Saturn square - which can be fanatically driven to continue on a course that is ill advised.

(18 Oct 2007 19:01): Benazir Bhutto's return to her home country, Pakistan, after 8 years in exile occurred fittingly as the Sun reached her midheaven and the Capricorn Moon crossed her ascendant. She was greeted in an emotional welcome by a rapturous crowd of supporters. Her return coincides with a period when Pluto is within two months of entering Pakistan's 4th house suggesting major changes ahead internally for many years ahead which will bring tensions between the reformers and the old guard. She was first elected Prime Minister of Pakistan when 35 years old, still producing children and was the first woman to rule a Muslim country.
Benazir Bhutto is a late 6th house Gemini with her Sun conjunct excitable Mars in early Cancer so she is hard working, feisty, courageous, impulsive though not always sensible. Her Sun trines a Libra Moon giving her charm and social ease and also trines a Saturn Neptune conjunction in Libra so she carries with her a vision for a better future which she is eloquent about expounding (9th house Sat Nep). Though with Uranus square Moon Nep Sat she can also be stubborn, sticking doggedly to her opinions even when clearly unrealistic. She's also got Pluto in the 8th which can go two ways. One is that life makes her feel constantly, trapped and stuck - descriptive for someone whose father, deposed premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, was imprisoned and executed, and she spent time under house arrest. The other is that it makes her wield power behind the scenes in underhand ways and also attracts the allegations of corruption. With Uranus in her 7th her married life was always going to be unusually detached and her husband spent 8 years in prison on corruption charges.

This November will be physically dangerous with Pluto trine her Mars/Saturn. December will bring dashed hopes and from late December she is impatient, frustrated and at risk. Pluto starts to oppose her Sun from late December for a year which will put her under tremendous pressure. And although confident Jupiter moves into her first house through 2008 which is upbeat, there is also through 2008 as well Neptune opposing her Pluto and trining Saturn and Neptune none of which are conducive to constructive progress. She'll be surrounded by confusion, facing disappointment and feeling her power base is being eroded. She will be lower in energy through 08 and 09 with Neptune also trine her 10th house Moon which is domestically undermining but also not great for career success. 2010 and 2011 sees Pluto oppose her Mars which is angry, again stuck, trapped by forces she can't control and will leave her feeling powerless and at risk from ruthless opposition to her plans. When she'll start to feel she's getting a firmer grip is by 2011/12. Then Saturn starts to move across her midheaven for a peak seven years career-wise. But more pertinently Pluto also starts to move out of her 12th house where it's been trapped for the past decade. (N.B.
