Tony Blair - the path ahead From: Marjorie. (10 Feb 2009 18:26): Pointers to TB''s future path. 2009 should be successful with Jupiter in 10th. Tr Uranus also sextiles his MC in 09 - so positive changes in direction. There will be a major upheaval in his life as his Solar Arc Pluto squares his Uranus late 09 or early 10, affecting his everyday working schedule. 2011 problems start to set in with transitting Neptune squaring his Jupiter which brings grandiose plans, especially financial ones, crunching down to the ground and in the three years thereafter tr Neptune squares his Jup/Mars midpoint and then squares his Mars in 2012/2013 which is panicky failure time. Thereafter he becomes fairly directionless with tr Neptune into his 11th for many years. His worst time comes in 2016/17 as his Solar Arc Pluto conjuncts his Neptune, Saturn conjunction which is disastrous and pole-axing. Around that time tr Uranus is also conjunct his Cardinal T square of Venus, Mercury in Aries opposition Neptune Saturn square Uranus from 2015 to 2018 which also won''t be too much fun.
On the Saturn career cycle he''s just getting into his second phase and will get a step up around 2015 and upwards thereafter. What puzzles me is his tr Pluto through his 8th which picked up after he left No 10 and sticks around until 2015 which is often a time of being trapped by old obligations especially financial. Given his stratospheric earnings it seems unlikely he''ll fall short on his mortgage repayments, though they do seem vast with Cherie''s propensity for multiple occupancy and buying at the top of the market.
What has fascinated palmistry experts is that he has Simian lines on both hands - head and heart line joined into one. " They may find it hard to distinguish between thoughts and feelings...are they thinking what they''re feeling or feeling what they''re thinking?.... Key word for this line is "intensity". If I can move into psycho-babble country for a moment with TBlair - that temperamental quirk of his of never admitting he is wrong has always fascinated me. It tends to go along with a personality who is 1) empty in the centre; 2) very controlling; 3) needs to see themselves as shining white; 4) has to reconstruct reality to fit their own comfort level so often they are delusional in their worldview; 5) needs to delete the past in order to construct a world which is totally their own creation. He ticks all the boxes. I have always thought his desire to see off the House of Lords etc was not so much Republican as part of that compulsive need to live in a world which is totally a Tony creation which has no past. Before-Tony has no value so needs to be junked.
He never learns from his mistakes since he refuses to see reality - it is too difficult for him. Often the above pathology goes with very creative personalities but he sought to make the UK his creation - and what a wreckage he has left behind him, as he sets off to rework the rest of the world in his image.

I''m not sure I can write about Tony Blair coherently since he evokes much the same feelings. He shoehorned himself in like a greasy spoon to meet Obama before the European leaders at a Washington prayer meeting - and mentioned God 31 times one gathers. What is more depressing is that Obama fell for Teflon Tony: -
"I want to thank my good friend Tony Blair for coming today --- He has been an example for so many people around the world of what dedicated leadership can accomplish." Apart you mean from the endless lies, the catastrophic failure to listen to the British public and sail into the Iraq attack on the basis of sexed up intelligence, the schmoozing up to wealthy donors and holiday home owners. And he even lied about his de facto Roman Catholicism during his time in office since it wouldn''t have been politically helpful. Mendacious, opportunistic and the partly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands Iraqis, not to mention raking in vast sums from banks and lecture tours since his exit from No 10. At least GWB has had the grace to slink out of sight. Quite how TB squares his conscience with God I have no idea - though, of course, he''s never wrong, always sincerely does what he believes is best. The I Ching has a sage line somewhere that '' by the results of your actions will you be judged.'' Delusional self belief won''t wash.
According to TB at his moment of Washington glory beside the new US President he said he''d had his conversion aged 10 when his father took a stroke. At that point his Solar Arc midheaven had moved to be conjunct his 10th house Aquarian NNode which I supposed could point to a moment of revelation about his mission in life. The upside of Aquarius NNode is finding a cause to fight for. The downside is needing to be around special people, ignoring advice, pride, seeing self as centre of the universe. He''s also, of course, got a self justifying, can be holier-than-though and I''m-always-right Mars Jupiter conjunction conjunct his Ascendant - it tends in negative mode to whitewash ambitious or aggressive plans with an air of sanctity.
The bad news is that he''s now got transitting Jupiter across his 10th house from late 2008 through till early 2010 which is success time, rising reputation. Evidently George Mitchell''s Middle East envoy job suits him because they co-operated over NIreland and he gets on well with the Clinton''s. Obama''s cosy feeling may not extend through late 2009 since tr Saturn squares their composite Sun and tr Uranus then does the same to similar separating effect in 2010.
His relations with Nicholas Sarkozy who is punting him for the permanent EU Presidency (dependent I think on the Constitution being signed - Ireland please vote NO again!) isn''t that hot as this year rolls on. Tr Uranus and then tr Saturn hard aspect their enthusiastic Sun Jupiter composite square which will put their exuberance under a bit of a cloud. Ditto Angela Merkel. He''d cast a pall of gloom over the EU if he got in - there''s highly Neptunian transits to that composite. Though I suppose since I reckon the EU will fragment by 2012 he could well oversee its final demise. Since he managed to do that for the UK.
If I may be blasphemous for a moment - if there''s anything which would definitively prove there is no God it is the continuing existence in high profile of Tony Blair.

Tony Blair EU From: Marjorie. (15 Jan 2008 13:19): I agree it's an unbelievable thought that he would be Head of the EU but then who'd ever expected him to be trying to placate the Middle East. His Taurus Sun does fall close to the EU 8th house Moon and his Moon close to the EU Venus which are worryingly amiable connections. But his Saturn Neptune also falls conjunct the EU Jupiter so there may be less than wholehearted enthusiasm about the idea.This post comes up in the second half of this year and depends a good deal on Sarkozy and Angela Merkel's support. TB's composite with Sarkozy is sinking a bit through this year, though his relationship with AMerkel looks quite upbeat. The composite of TB with EU has Mars, Sun and Venus in Pisces at 4,12,15 degrees, so Saturn will be irritating Mars till mid 08 and then opposing Sun and Venus across any decision on the matter. If by some odd quirk of fate it happened the end result wouldn't be beneficial for either - there's a really chained, trapped feeling about the composite and quite a lot of depressing concern thro' 09.

Tony Blair Pluto in 8th From: Marjorie. (11 Jan 2008 14:24): Talking of Pluto transitting the 8th(see previous post), it was always a surprise to see Tony Blair had it coming from the moment he stepped down as PM. As expected he's now on the money- making post-Presidential trail, doing mega buck lectures and has now signed a $1 million a year contract with US bankers J P Morgan. This isn't so odd given that Pluto is accompanied at the moment by Jupiter and Jupiter going through the 8th is usually good for money. However it only stays for a year so it'll be interesting to see what happens thereafter. Pluto in the 8th can also be to do with emotional stuckness which may in part be his legacy from Iraq, since he isn't going to shake off the public perception of his guilt anytime soon. Or indeed his marriage since Pluto square Sun/Moon will be raising major questions in his mind, though his recent conversion to Catholicism rather limits his options now.

Tony Blair From: Marjorie. (28 Jun 2007 11:26): Tony Blair's new life as Middle East envoy certainly fits with his secondary progressed Moon continuing across his midheaven indicating high ambition to strut the world stage. But nothing else in his chart suggests success for some time to come.Frankly it's a bizarre choice since his astrocartography shows no special resonance with the Middle East. And it's a toss up whether his relationship with Israel is more difficult than with Palestine. He'll find it difficult to be patient with the Israelis since he'll meet stubborn resistance which will test even his relentless charm and optimism. This is a relationship which will bog down very easily, and also swing from highs to lows with impatience and great criticism being expressed. It will sag badly right through till the end of this year with a definite dip in July 07, high insecurity and aggravation in October and December/January 08 and prove a jolting ride and a disappointment next. Not only is the interface between TB and Israel one of a struggle for power and inherently unstable, it's also one where a win by one side will be seen as a defeat for the other. With Palestine he has a different set of problems, equally difficult. There's a defensive barrier here which is riddled with doubt, suspicion and distrust. There's also a sense of delusion wrapped into the chemistry between them, high hopes which will not prove founded in reality. There will be lots of hot air about positive change but producing solid results on the ground will test even Blair's endurance. There will be an impasse in August, a setback in September and if he sticks around 2009 and 2010 will be high risk, frustrating years. On his own chart, Pluto moving into the 8th from now onwards for a decade suggest a trapped period where he'll be at the mercy of forces beyond his control, and be financially cornered as well. The next few months especially will be a sobering experience as Saturn damps his enthusiasm in August, brings irritating setbacks in September/October, perhaps accidents. And in general with transitting Neptune trine Neptune and Saturn till early 2009, both undermining worrying influences, his visions of bringing fairness and justice to the Middle East are likely to run into the sand. His relationship with the new PM Gordon Brown is also ploughing through heavy seas this year and next with frustrations and irritations running hot and strong, perhaps because of Blair's refusal to get out of the limelight.

PRESENT INFLUENCES: Dec 21 07 Tony Blair’s conversion to Roman Catholicism, while no surprise, does put the spotlight back on the question of how much his prime ministerial policies were driven by his obviously strong religious faith. At first glance his chart is not especially religious with no planets in the 9th. His Neptune is certainly heavily aspected (conjunct Saturn opposition Venus Mercury square Uranus) but that configuration is typical of the early to mid 1950s generation who became the hippie generation into flower power and oddball spiritual beliefs, certainly not leaning towards the orthodox church. His Jupiter in the 12th does give him a rich inner life, an interest in inner spiritual search and a tendency to look within or beyond reality, for support in times of crises. His Jupiter is conjunct Mars which tends to make for ‘crusaders’, people who campaign vigorously for their beliefs or try to wrap their aggressive impulses up in a self-justifying moral or religious system.

He is certainly at a crisis point at the moment with Pluto square his Sun/Moon midpoint through 2007, exact in December 07, and in the second half of 2008. This often points to strains within a marriage but also points to an inner conflict at a soul level. What is interesting astrologically speaking is that Neptune in his chart which was retrograde at his birth is now by secondary progression on the direct station. Which was the time he chose to make his conversion. Saturn also retrograde at birth reached the direct station around the time he was elected Prime Minister.

Transitting Neptune is also for the final time exactly in opposition to his heavily aspected, fearful and controlling 4th house Pluto which is many ways I think is the key to his personality. At a mundane level this transit is a hint of his waning power and influence. Psychologically it is also a time of great confusion about unresolved emotional issues, especially those relating to his father (4th house) and his anxiety about facing his own inner fears and demons. Neptune Pluto also can have a spiritualizing effect.

Transitting Pluto is also from late 2007 moving into his 8th house for a decade plus. This can have adverse financial effects or accompany death experiences of others which have a significant effect. In essence it brings considerations of death and rebirth (resurrection) to the fore. And for some it is a time of compulsively seeking the answers to the fundamental mysteries of life. For a Prime Minister who seemed incapable of admitting guilt or responsibility for mistakes and justified the often damaging consequences of his actions on others, by proclaiming his ‘right’ beliefs, it seems an odd choice to convert to the branch of Christianity most focussed on individual guilt.

With Saturn putting major obstacles and setbacks in his way as it slowly aspects his central configuration of a fixed Moon, Moon’s North Node, Pluto, Sun T square from mid October 2005 to June 2007, this was always going to be a time of failures and disasters. His Moon and Moon’s Node in the 10th suggests it would be a career crises time with emotional and family implications from the 4th house Pluto. When Saturn first hit his Moon in November 2005, his close ally, David Blunkett, had to resign as cabinet minister for the second time in a year, calling into question Blair’s judgement. There were more revelations about the cover up preceding the Iraq Attack, and he lost a key vote in the House of Commons over Terror Legislation. His ‘Black Wednesday’ of late April 2006 with three of his Cabinet in the headlines for major mistakes does not show up in his chart except as part of this wider pattern. He shares Margaret Thatcher's capacity for not reacting to events which for normal people would be a major blow. Though May 6 to August 2 2006 has Uranus square his Saturn/Node midpoint suggesting separations and violent disputes, as well as squaring the Neptune/Node midpoint bringing further undermining or destruction of relationships. With Pluto also hovering on the cusp of his 8th house he feels thoroughly stuck, with major financial problems looming in the background. Pluto stays there for another decade so he won’t be facing a light hearted retirement from No 10.

Saturn will get to the opposition to his Moon’s North Node for the second time in May (19th to 30th 2006). This usually brings chickens home to roost, where he’ll have to pay the price for past actions. He’ll fight against what he perceives to be the unfairness of this but it won’t change the circumstances. Then Saturn conjuncts his Saturn/Jupiter midpoint in late June/early July 2006 bringing more career losses. This is when George W. Bush's chart is also under major pressure from Saturn so there may be a transatlantic connection to events. Though what will really stop Blair in his tracks is Saturn opposing his Moon for the second time in July (8th to 15th 2006), making him feel unpoular and unappreciated publicly and at home. Saturn then squares his Sun in August (9th to 15th 2006), which is usually an indicator of a major roadblock and a dampening experience. It will attempt to force him to face political and emotional realities by throwing major problems his way. In mid July as well Saturn is conjunct his Mars/Saturn and Mars/Neptune midpoints which will bring more gloom, disasters, accidents, low energy and perhaps health problems. At the same time his relationship with his Chancellor Gordon Brown hits another all time low as Saturn squares their composite Moon. This will bring a widening gap in their already fractitious partnership. Brown himself at that point does not look successful or contented since Saturn will conjunct his 5th house Moon (and Pluto conjunction) at that time.

Blair then continues on astrologically to face an even stickier autumn and 2007. Saturn is conjunct his 4th house Pluto late September 2006, late February and early June 2007, which will make him feel trapped, discouraged and at a loss emotionally as well as career-wise. Pluto will square his Sun/Moon midpoint from late January 2007 for a couple of years, bringing further crisis in his public popularity and possibly even in his marriage. He will feel torn by inner conflict. Saturn then finishes its transit of his fixed T square when it squares Jupiter in late August 2007 bringing the need for financial cutbacks and undermining his self confidence. Saturn then continues on to square Mars and his Ascendant until mid 2008 which will bring anger, accidents, more woes and denting his image further. This will bring his self justifying moralising face to face with unpleasant realities. Neptune also opposes his Pluto from February 2007 to January 2008 undermining his home, family and political ambitions. The one note of cheer in his chart is Jupiter at the moment in his 6th bringing better health and in his 7th from December 2006 for a year giving him a slight lift of confidence in his relationships and socially.

Blair and UK and 3rd Term Government. The vexed question of when he leaves No 10 and the Premiership might best be judged from his composite charts with the UK and his 3rd Term Government chart. Blair’s relationship with the UK populace is strained with Uranus conjunct the composite Sun from late March 2006 till February 2007 and then conjunct Venus later in 2007 which will upset the applecart. Blair’s position in his 3rd term government is being undermined as Saturn squares the composite Venus in May 2006 which will put Blair at odds with Government confidence. Uranus will then start to move in 2006 across the composite Moon’s North Node from May 2006 and from April 2007 will conjunct the compsite Sun, again signs of a complete rupture in the relationship. It is difficult to see how he could continue much past 2007 and may go earlier. There will certainly be a major impasse in August 2006 for Blair, Brown and the UK Government. Late August may see the key decision. What is the imponderable in these assesments is Blair’s astonishing stubborness (fixed T square with Sun, Moon and Pluto) and his incredible self belief (or delusion) from a Mars Jupiter conjunction. His sociopathic tendency of never admitting mistakes, saying sorry or seemingly feeling shame for mistakes is an indicator of a personality whom it will take real force to remove. Even then he’ll probably still cling to his beliefs that he was right all along.

TONY BLAIR: BIRTH CHART
A hidden Taurus, he has a dynamic, visionary Mars in Taurus & Jupiter in Gemini together on his Gemini ascendant. The image he presents is idealistic, and with a humanitarian Aquarian midheaven Moon, he does genuinely care about creating a better society. But there are two buts. A Mars Jupiter conjunction has a tendency to wrap aggression in self justifying moral arguments. He likes going to war but always manages to make it sound like a high moral crusade. The other problematic factor in bis chart is a profoundly fixed, rigidly stubborn T square of possessive Pluto opposing the Moon squaring onto his Sun, suggest a behind-the-scenes ego which needs to be in control at all times. The puppetmaster par excellence. His Saturn Neptune conjunction in Libra is socially high minded; squaring onto Uranus, makes him highly strung and not always rational in his judgements, at times given to paranoid worries. Pluto at the base of his chart makes him fearful of his deeper feelings, so he avoids intimacy. The Moon's Node at the mid heaven makes him lack a solid sense of direction.

On Blair’s birth chart Saturn is now on the opposition to his 10th house Moon ( November 3rd to 10 December 2005) making him feel unloved and unpopular. He’s had a politically awkward October and November with his close ally, David Blunkett, resigning as cabinet minister for the second time in a year, calling into question Blair’s judgement. Then the indictment of Lewis Libby in the USA raised the spectre of yet more damaging publicity for Blair over the spurious reasons for attacking Iraq. Then the ex-Ambassador for the UK to USA, Sir Christopher Meyer’s book serialised this week in UK newspapers laid bare Blair’s inadequacies and weakness in coping with the White House heavyweights. He’s now lost by a considerable margin an important piece of Terror Legislation in the House of Commons on which he’d staked his reputation. Within days Neptune will hit another undermining square to his Sun from November 21 to January 1 2006. On the first hit of this aspect in April to June 2004 he nearly resigned. It usually accompanies feelings of panic, failure, low energy, high uncertainty. His Lunar Return for December 2005 certainly hints at some health issues. Blair’s composite with his Third Term chart is very jangled through December as well with Uranus opposing Saturn. Blair’s composite with the UK is also very unsettled with Pluto trine Uranus picking up from the date he lost the Westminster vote through into December. The political chatter is that he’s now really on the slide, having lost his authority, with even his own side voting against him. ‘In office but not in control’. Though his formidably fixed Sun Moon Pluto T square and his gung ho Mars Jupiter conjunction are unlikely to make him admit defeat unless forced to by health or other maybe even financial pressures. His unshakeable self belief appears not to allow for any sense of shame or defeat and indeed at times appears to shield him from reality.
Admittedly Saturn is from late June 05 moving into his 4th house till late 2007 which will help to give him a career boost though it usually also brings tensions at home out into the open. But Saturn is also heading for a series of transits to his fixed T square, starting with an opposition to his Moon in November and early December 2005 which will make him feel unloved and unpopular. That returns in July 2006 and Saturn then proceeds to conjunct his 4th house Pluto, which will be stuck, frustrating, not happy emotionally and into 2007 to square his Jupiter which will put a damper on his exuberance. Through 2006 Blair’s relationship with Brown will be chilly, separated and tense as Saturn enters the composite 7th and squares the composite Moon in July 2006 and then twice conjuncts the composite Pluto in 2007.

Pluto is also trine Uranus and sextile Mercury on and off until early December 2005 which will bring sudden dramatic changes in his public image though with difficulty. But it is Uranus conjunct the composite Sun from late March 2006 till February 2007 and then conjunct Venus later in 2007 which will upset the applecart and could point to the timing of his resignation. Blair’s position in his 3rd term government will be undermined by the Neptune square to the composite Sun (same degree as his Sun) in August/September, and December 2005. Saturn will also square the composite Jupiter and Venus in August 2005 and February to May 2006 which will put Blair at odds with Government confidence. Uranus will then start to move in 2006 across the composite Moon’s North Node from May and from April 2007 will conjunct the composite Sun, again signs of a complete rupture in the relationship. It is difficult to see how he could continue much past 2007 and may go earlier. His financial problems mainly due to unwise property deals do not look set to disappear as he exits No 10 even with the promise of huge fees from global speaking engagements and books. Pluto hovers on the brink of his 8th in 2006 and then moves in fully in 2007 to stay till 2015 which will be a time of repaying old obligations, feeling financially trapped and very strained. In 2008 Pluto will also square his Sun/Moon midpoint which will be a time of inner turmoil and perhaps marital strain.
