In the News / Celebrity Astrology Earl of Wessex 10 March 1964 8:20 pm, London & 20 January 1965
Wessex Jnr From: Marjorie. (18 Dec 2007 11:34): The baby boy born to Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex on Monday at 4.20 pm in Frimley, Surrey has a powerfully confident collection of Sun, Mercury, Jupiter and Pluto in Sagittarius opposing Mars in Cancer on the ascendant square a 10th house Pisces Moon. He'll clearly be a force to be reckoned with. Jupiter Pluto is usually determined, successful, pushy. Jupiter opposition Mars is extravagant, opinionated, fairly aggressive, often self justifying about their actions. Mars opposition Pluto is stubborn, can be ruthless, needs to learn to handle power sensibly, and can be attracted into dangerous situations. This very loaded opposition squares onto a sensitive Pisces 10th house Moon suggesting he may find an outlet for his tremendous energy in a public career. Though with Uranus also in the 10th he'll also be rebellious, wanting to walk his own road and won't fit easily into an overly strict environment with set rules and regulations. Uranus also opposes a 4th house Saturn so he'll be contradictory in his attitudes, autocratic and have a tendency to not to practise what he preaches. With his Sun and Moon in square he'll see his parents as very different people, almost incompatible, so will find it difficult in his early adult life to work out what he really wants - head and heart go in opposite directions. The significant emotional relationship of his life will come in his mid 30s. He'll see both his parents are powerful, rather overly dramatic. Saturn in the 4th suggests heavy responsibilities come to him through the family and home tends to be cold rather than warm emotionally, overly concerned with duty. So he may have problems finding a contented home life for himself in adult life. His Pisces Moon falls close to Prince Edward's Pisces Sun so there will be a bond there though with his Uranus also getting into the picture it will be a rather unsettled connection. His mother's Mars in Virgo (conjunct Uranus and Pluto) fall opposite his Moon and Uranus so he'll find her more difficult to deal with, impatient at times. Since his Saturn falls close to her Moon Uranus Pluto conjunction, she'll find him defensive, tending to block her out. He is highly emotional himself with a water grand trine of Mars Ascendant trine Venus in Scorpio and Uranus Moon's North Node so he'll be self protective, living at times in a dream world. But he'll also be quite a party playboy with a seductive Scorpio Venus in the 5th forming a passionate trine to Mars in Cancer. Luckily his powerhouse collection of Sagittarian planets fall in the 6th house so he'll also be hard working, keen to be of service. They sextile onto his midheaven so career ambitions will be furthered by his positive and forceful approach. He may be interested in helping/working in the medical areas. Though he'll always need to pay attention to his health. He could be overly indulgent with Jupiter there and Saturn in Virgo is a worrier, tending to digestive disorders. Prince Edward's Chart: Prince Edward, the youngest of Queen Elizabeth’s children is a hard working Pisces with a sixth house Sun. His chart definitely exhibits a streak of vagueness about money with Neptune in the 2nd and a complicated emotional life. With a highly emphasised Aquarian Moon in the fourth, he prefers friends to intimacy, and is most nurtured by his childhood family, especially his father. He can be utterly charming on the social scene with Jupiter & Venus in the 7th. But limiting Saturn in the fifth suggests a lack of emotional spontaneity as well as difficulties in having children, who can come later in life, or even be adopted since Aquarius is on the cusp of the 5th. With Mars close to Mercury and the Sun he can be irritable, though Pisces is the least confrontational of all signs. Opposing Uranus & Pluto in Virgo this can make him rather erratic, highly controlled & controlling one moment and rebellious the next. With only one cardinal planet (Jupiter in Aries in the 7th) he is not a self starter, preferring to attract himself to a partner who has the ideas and initiative. Although his career looks to be glowing in one respect with Jupiter about to cross his midheaven from late June 2002 for a year, and Saturn bringing heavier executive responsibility from 2004 for 7 years, he is not in an easy phase of his life. Transformational Pluto has been squaring his major Virgo/Pisces opposition for several years since 1998. 2002 is a year of high frustration and acute resentment with Pluto squaring Mars, which will not clear until November 2002. It creates major blockages. 2003 & 2004 see Pluto squaring his Mercury leading to intense, aggravated discussions and then squaring the Sun. The entire process of several years will deconstruct an old way of life, and give him a feeling of old ambitions laid waste. Restrictive, discouraging Saturn has also been squaring the same planets since mid 2001. Late April to late June 2002 will coincide with a bleak period of setbacks. As if this wasn’t enough, Uranus is also conjunct his fifth house Saturn from mid April to mid July 2002, causing jolting changes in his emotional and social life. That repeats on and off till the end of 2003. The Countess of Wessex was born on 20th January 1965 on the cusp of Capricorn and Aquarius. With no birth time known it isn’t possible to say which. Capricorn if she was an early morning baby, Aquarius if she was born after 6am. Both Aquarius and Capricorn do have a reputation for heading for financial security rather than true love. In addition she has Mercury & Venus in Capricorn, which will attract her to status, positions of wealth and respectability, as well as Jupiter in Taurus which definitely likes the good life. An Earth grand trine of Jupiter, Venus/Mercury and her Virgo planets, make her practical, perhaps limited in imagination but essentially a good business woman. Her Moon is certainly in Virgo close to a powerhouse collection of Uranus, Pluto and Mars in opposition to Saturn, so her emotional needs and responses are complex in the extreme. At times she will be pulled in so many different directions, she will shut down her feelings altogether, as the easiest option for coping. With Jupiter opposing Neptune, she can be kind but also unrealistic at times, either committing herself beyond her capacity to deliver, or making her feel that she is someone specially chosen in life to occupy a place of distinction. Since she and her husband share the same Pisces/Virgo planets in opposition, she is also undergoing a challenging time of tensions and setbacks as both transitting Pluto and Saturn force her to make far reaching changes in her life against her will. 2002 is especially tricky to negotiate with Pluto squaring Uranus, causing major upheavals, and Pluto squaring Pluto pulling her against resistance away from the past. Into 2003 Saturn will square Mars bringing frustration and maybe even accidents, so caution is required. THEIR RELATIONSHIP: With a Sun, Venus Saturn conjunction in the composite chart, it is definitely duty before pleasure, more of a business partnership than a meeting of hearts. Saturn can make for enduring relationships, but they tend to be rather cool. Venus however also opposes Uranus & Pluto and squaring (widely) onto Mars. So this is a relationship destined to undergo traumatic transformations, with inherent power struggles and strong underlying tensions which will tend to erupt destructively. The past two years have been difficult in the extreme with Pluto squaring Uranus & Pluto. 2002 sees Uranus crossing the composite Sun late February/early March, repeating Sept/Oct and Nov/Dec. This will change the identity of the relationship suddenly, breaking links with the past, and bringing to a head simmering resentments about compromises which have proved a step too far. 2002 also continues along the same course with the transitting Pluto squares, now aggravated by Saturn. Outbursts of anger are likely or setbacks especially when Saturn opposes Mars late June/early July 2002. Pluto then moves on to conjunct Mars in 2004, which will not make for sweetness and light. It can be utilised to accomplish a huge project but it tends to break down into struggles for domination if a good deal of love and compassion are not present.
