Madonna is generally not in a great year with a less than exuberant tr Neptune opposition to her very emphasised Leo Sun until the year end. There''s also a good deal of activity around her 4th house Saturn in Sagittarius which puts barriers in the way of creating a happy home life for her. But she does have ''good luck'' and ''great relief'' influences picking up temporarily from next week so she might just get her way over the adoption if the ruling is made after the 6th. Though she is running into real setbacks come May/June so if the decision is postponed again she may not.
She was born the day before Fred Goodwin, the bullish and shameless ex-Chairman of Royal Bank of Scotland who is still hanging determinedly on to his obscenely large pension even after making the biggest banking losses anywhere. That not-for-turning and don''t-give-a-toss-what-anyone-else-thinks comes from their Leo Sun widely conjunct rebellious Uranus square acquisitive Mars in Taurus. The Leo Sun also trines Saturn in Sagittarius which latter can get surprisingly defensive about criticism but the Leo Taurus planets will continue on their chosen way no matter what.
In Madonna''s case Saturn falls in the 4th house suggesting an emotionally cold childhood and indeed her mother died of cancer when she was just five years old as her Solar Arc Saturn moved to bring that trine to her natal Sun to exact. Most often people with a 4th house Saturn have a real struggle to find a secure, warm, contented family life for themselves in adult life. Madonna with all her millions has clearly decided buying a family is the way to go without much thought for the emotional wellbeing of the children she adopts. Removing children from their extended families and cultures to be brought up in her harum scarum, constantly shifting existence with ''daddys'' coming and going is guaranteed to result in some extremely muddled children growing into adults who don''t feel they fit anywhere in the world.
Her 4th house Saturn is continuing to be buffeted by tr Saturn in square later this year and be her Solar Arc delusional Jupiter Neptune conjunct for another few years so her home life will continue to be fairly roller coaster - high hopes running constantly into the buffers of reality checks.
If the birth time of 7.05 am is correct for her then she''s going to have to face some of her unresolved psychological problems comes 2010 to 2013 with tr Saturn thro'' her 2nd. They will surface then. She undoubtedly had a difficult controlling father, aggressive and rather scary; and always felt cut off from the more feminine elements in life with her Virgo Moon square Saturn and trine Mars. In order to cope with her fears she has taken on the role of the control freak, aggressive father - it''s made her a fortune but not much happiness. One wonders how she is going to cope with her fifties when age will start to slow her down and curb her body beautiful addictive drive.

Madonna''s divorce from Guy Ritchie should be finalised at 10 am tomorrow morning in London. There''s a well balanced Jupiter Saturn trine tomorrow which might suggest an equable settlement with Guy supposedly asking for no money and custody of the children agreed. The Moon in Virgo is conjunct Saturn opposition Uranus about at that time describing the sense of loss (Moon Saturn) and disruption (Moon Uranus) which the marriage split has brought.
My sense however is there''s a great deal of unfinished business around which will cause bitterness and anger over the next two years. Both are feeling fairly down through next year though Madonna more than Guy. She has an undermining Neptune opposing her Sun all year with Neptune also trine Jupiter which might point to high hopes not quite working out. January will certainly be a bumpy month. Guy has also three Neptune transits around next year which are not usually morale boosting. But it is their relationship chart with tr Pluto opposition Mars from March 09 on and off for two years thereafter which looks as if it could spark up arguments.

The Madonna marriage disaster looks like dragging on which is much what the composite suggested with wrangles for the next two/three years and a great deal of bad feeling. Madonna is clearly a control freak with a Leo Sun conjunct Pluto with Sun also conjunct Uranus square Mars in Taurus - so she''s contradictory, impatient with it and hugely stubborn. I think there would be a flash of instant attraction between them with an exact Sun, Venus, Uranus conjunction on the composite but these coup de foudre type relationships most often don''t last.
She also seems to pick men to father her children rather than for the sake of the relationship. Guy Ritchie is ten years younger and at 42 when she married he presumably seemed a virile choice. She reminds me of the old Greek myth of Attis - the man is only valuable for his seed and he gets emasculated once he''s done his thing. She does seem to have a damaging effect on the men she marries until they free themselves. Guy Ritchie is a fairly controlling and forceful Sun, Jupiter, Pluto, Uranus in Virgo with a self reliant Saturn in Aries trine a determined Mars in Leo - so not easily castrated.
When she married on Dec 22 2000, her Solar Arc Venus was conjunct her natal Moon (Moon = mother ) but her Solar Arc Saturn was also exactly opposite her natal Venus which is emotionally cool. The transitting Pluto opposition Saturn was in the early years of the marriage squaring her Moon so it was tough from square one, not what she expected.
Frankly a macriobiotic Italian/American Amazon of a woman marrying a hunting, shooting, fishing Englishmen and in the frozen north of Scotland in late December always did sound too bizarre to work.
Lourdes is a secretive, intense 8th house Libra Sun with a passionate though slightly vengeful Scorpio Moon. She''ll be exceptionally charming with a 7th house Venus in Virgo trine a friendly Jupiter in Capricorn in the 11th. But she''ll never give much away about what she''s planning or feeling. She''s self reliant, hard working, opinionated. Not sure I''d see politics as her thing but she''ll try to make a difference.

Two points of interest on the Madonna marriage breakdown. Press reports are quoting her saying the cracks started to appear when she fell off a horse, breaking bones and felt Guy was not as sympathetic as he might have been. That was 2005 when Uranus started to oppose the Virgo planets in the composite chart (see below). Also the marriage chart had Neptune opposing Venus in 2005 which is disappointing and has Pluto sextile Mars in 07/08 and Pluto conjunct the Sun in 80/09 which is aggravating and tends to coincide with break ups. Charts of the marriage itself do work well which makes you wonder why more people don''t check out a suitable astrological date since it sets the tone for what comes after.
Her romance with the Dominican baseball player Alex Rodriguez will be a running firework display since he is also Leo and has Mars in Taurus - both of which she has. Two Leos are hardly an ideal match - both wanting centre stage. But she seems to like them since Sean Penn was also Leo and Guy Ritchie who was a marginally more pliable Virgo has Mars in Leo which was conjunct her Sun Uranus so was a pretty combustible combination.

Thanks for your kind compliments. Truthfully it wasn''t very inspired. Nothing was ever clearer if you look at their composite chart. A Sun, Venus, Uranus, Pluto conjunction in Virgo - so an affectionate relationship; (Sun Venus) that was always destined to be roller coaster and go through huge changes (Ur Pl); and was passionately possessive (Sun Venus Pluto); and needed a good deal of space (Sun Venus Uranus). So the basic relationship itself was always going to be volatile and contradictory. Plus an argumentative Moon Mars conjunction.
Transitting Uranus had been in opposition to all these Virgo planets from 2005 onwards which would start the boat rocking. Then transitting Saturn (= separating and discouraging, facing reality) started to conjunct the composite Sun and Venus late last year to mid 2008 which would be the final straw. In fact the relationship would have split when there was all the publicity a couple of months back. But he had a new movie to launch and she had a world tour just starting - so not a career friendly time for a divorce. Never get taken in by show business stories and denials. What''s the old saying? Never believe a rumour until it is denied.
Madonna is very controlling with a Leo Sun conjunct Pluto and Sun Uranus square Mars so is pretty much a law unto herself and doesn''t like interference. He''s also fairly controlling being a Sun Jupiter Pluto and Uranus conjunction in Virgo and fairly contradictory as well with Uranus and Pluto.
The publicist said divorce amicably by the end of the year. But their composite has Pluto opposing Mars (and Moon?) at least through 2010/11 and maybe before if the Moon is earlier - which doesn''t sound at all amiable. Perhaps arguments over the kids.
One interesting thought about Madonna men - it was said of Sean Penn that his career ground to a halt when he was married to Madonna and only took off after he was free. He had the same kind of marriage to Madonna with another Uranus Venus Sun Pluto conjunction square Mars in the composite - so basically too hot to handle.
Madonna split From: Marjorie. (10 Jun 2008 15:44): The signs are there astrologically as well as publicly that singer Madonna is about to split from her husband film maker Guy Ritchie. Transitting Saturn is now approaching the final conjunction to the exact Venus, Sun, Uranus conjunction on their relationship chart. This has been around before in October 07, February 08 and according to news reports they have been leading separate lives since earlier this year. It was also going to be a roller coaster marriage with Pluto also conjunct that group of planets in the composite - lots of affection, sudden attraction (Sun Venus, Sun Uranus), passion (Sun Venus Pluto) but also a need for space (Uranus) and a fight for control (Pluto). With the composite Moon close to Mars there would be noisy arguments and sextile Venus Sun Uranus as well a great deal of high wire enthusiasm.
This year as well transitting Neptune is conjunct the sparsely aspected composite Saturn bringing confusion and worry.
In Madonna''s own chart this year transitting Neptune is opposing her Leo Sun which is undermining and Uranus is square Her Saturn bringing jolting changes. On the 7.05 am birth time Saturn is also hovering on her Ascendant giving her a sense that her life is moving into a new phase where she wants more time to herself and perhaps play a less high profile role in the world. There is a query about her birth time but on 7.05 am. For an Aquarian rather than Virgo Ascendant she''d now have Saturn moving into her 7th now.
Whatever the timing of her birth it could be a tricky break up since their relationship chart has Pluto opposition Mars in 2010/11 which could get very bad tempered and hostile.
Guy Ritche''s chart is having a real up and down year with Uranus opposing his natal Pluto bringing radical changes and Pluto squaring his natal Uranus doing the same - thus a double whammy. Neptune is also opposing his Mars so he won''t feel he''s winning on any front through 2008. Pluto this year is also finishing a difficult trine to his Saturn Moon conjunction which started in 2005 and doesn''t clear till this December which will have been a discouraging and depressing time for him emotionally and domestically. And he''s still got Saturn crossing his Jupiter, Sun, Pluto and Uranus to come from October 08 to mid 2010 so he''ll take time to find his feet on the far side of his marriage. He''ll bounce back up in 2010.
Chart: A disruptive conjunction of rebellious Uranus close to her flamboyant, ego-centric Leo Sun gives her creative drive, a flair for making her own highly individual statement and taking pleasure in constantly shocking those around. Being one the crowd would seem an admission of failure to her. Her Sun is also close to highly controlling and controlled Pluto, suggesting a compulsive need to be in charge at all times. With Mars in square to both the Sun and Uranus, she likes to walk on the wild side, thrives on excitement and danger, and loathes anyone interfering with her plans. Co-operation is not her forte.
With a fairly packed 12th house (Uranus, Sun, Pluto and Mercury), she is surprisingly hidden, liking her own company and absolute privacy for longish periods, and not being comfortable in the constant glare of public exposure. Driven by a fair number of psychological demons, relics of her difficult childhood, she finds adult relationships tricky to maintain. Though with her Moon’s North Node in Libra, this is her challenge in life, to find the balance in a meaningful one-to-one partnership. With Saturn in the 4th, she experienced her childhood home and her father as cold, disciplinarian and rigid. Her mother’s pregnancy with her would have been highly unsettled, with little sense of father’s support even at that stage. Madonna arrived bearing a fair amount of psychological baggage even at that early stage. It has been the fuel for her determination to succeed. Yet the emotional hurts and neurotic imbalances will need to be healed along the way, otherwise she may end her days lonely and unfulfilled.
The other surprise of her chart is the (normally prim) Virgo ascendant with a Virgo Mercury and Moon close by. Obviously not strong enough to hold in her firework display of a personality or her wayward streak, her ascendant is nonetheless another of her path’s in life. Finding order, maintaining an appearance of practicality, being of service, and communicating a meaningful message to the world will become more important to her as she grows older. With lucky Jupiter close to musical, artistic Neptune in her house of personal finances, she has a magic touch with money, yet dislikes handling her own personal finances, preferring to let others take over. Not always practical about cash, she can get into a muddle or sometimes blur the lines between reality and fantasy. Neptune squaring onto a colourful Leo makes her idealistic about her romantic encounters but none too sensible. Continually disappointed because partners fail to match up to her dreams, she cuts loose and tries again. Neptune opposing Mars gives her the attraction to showbiz and publicity, and squaring onto Uranus it makes her pre-eminently suited to be the ultimate experimenter, pioneer and breaker of moulds.
Present Influences: Despite her recent movie flop she is at a peak in her career which will extend on to 2008, after which she may drop out of sight. 2006 and 2007 will be confident, financially hugely successful years. Though Neptune now moving for a decade or so through her 6th house will not bring ego boosts through achievements, so she will have to work more in a spirit of service. With her progressed Moon in the 8th, since her recent marriage and staying there for until almost the end of 2003, she is in a tumultuous emotional phase, swinging from extreme to extreme, unclear about her values and priorities. When Uranus moved into her 7th in 2004 to stay for some years, she would want more freedom in close relationships. In 2003 Uranus squared her Sun/Moon midpoint, always a hint of a less than smooth marital path. In many ways she and Guy Ritchie (September 10 1968), a Sun, Jupiter and Pluto in Virgo, are well matched with a good deal of affection, passionate attachment and possessiveness in their relationship.
