The topsy turvy world of Michael Jackson has taken another couple of dents with news of the public auction of Neverland, his US zoo house, and the lawsuit against him by the Bahrein Sheik who helped him out financially after his child abuse trial.
If his birth time of 11.43 am is correct then Pluto heading for his 8th could suggest a very enclosed, trapped time ahead. The media reports says he has probably got through nearly $1 billion dollars through sheer mismanagement. Tr Neptune continues to square his Mars inducing panic, a sense of failure till early 2009; and tr Uranus is in a jolting square to his Saturn till Jan 09 is out of the way.
But what intrigued me looking at his chart is his Solar Arc Jupiter Neptune conjunction. Natally this is in the 5th indicating musical talent (Nep 5th), confidence as a performer (Jup in 5th) and a love of children (5th). Though Jupiter Neptune can also point to a less than practical or realistic personality, one with little self discipline and soaring optimism but no common sense. One who promises more than he delivers. This conjunction is moving by solar arc across his Saturn in Sagittarius, starting two and a half years ago, just after his trial finished with him fleeing to the Arab Emirates and not finishing for another 18 months. Admittedly the initial SA Neptune on Saturn around in 05/06 would be the most difficult, disorienting, causing great worry and confusion. SA Jupiter on Saturn in 2010 could suggest cautious expansion and since his SA Sun will conjunct his 5th house Jupiter by 2011/12 he could make a showbiz comeback. But he''s got a lot of changing to do before then with tr Pluto trine his natal Pluto in 09/10 and then moving towards the trine to his Sun by 2012.
** The Jupiter Neptune conjunction is around next year in Aquarius which is perhaps why a fair few of the people hitting the headlines at the moment seem to be picking up the energy from their own charts. Jupiter Neptune is connected to high finance, huge dreams and then catastrophic disappointments if care is not taken. Though with ordinary mortals it is just a streak over unrealism, ecstatic longings, sentimentality or blind spots.

Michael Jackson at 50 is almost as unsettling a thought and sight as Mick Jagger at 65. Probably the dominant figure in global pop music in the 1980s, Jackson''s career, reputation and finances have been sliding badly in recent years. His birth time is disputed but on 11.43 pm which makes sense of some aspects of his life, he has a Sun Pluto in Virgo in the 4th house, which speaks clearly of highly controlling, abusive father of whom he was very scared. His sensitive Pisces Moon squares Saturn so mother was also cold and rejecting. He also has a head-in the-clouds Jupiter Neptune conjunction in the 5th which fits the consummate stage performer in the music business - and his attraction to the company of children.
He started performing aged 11 and by 13 was going solo. By the early 1980s when he was at his success peak transitting Pluto was conjunct his Jupiter bringing money, confidence and acclaim. On this birth time his Solar Arc Sun was then just into his 5th house of entertainment and Solar Arc Mars into his 1st house giving him drive and energy.
When the first sexual abuse allegations surfaced in 1993 which were settled out of court, though it still left its mark on his reputation his Solar Arc Saturn was square his Moon''s North Node bringing chickens home to roost - Saturn always insists that a price is paid for actions and responsibilities must be faced. Transitting Pluto was also in opposition to his sexualised Mars in Taurus which is frightening and very stuck. By 2005 when the trial over the second set of public abuse allegations came to court transitting Uranus was in opposition to his very trapped Sun causing emotional upsets and a great upheaval.
Although he was found not guilty, the aftermath found him fleeing to the United Arab Emirates to hide. Since early 2007 transitting Neptune has been squaring his Mars lowering his energy, morale and confidence. That influence won''t disappear until early 2009. Through 2006/07 as well his Solar Arc Neptune was conjunct his natal Saturn which is hugely confusing and undermining. This year transitting Uranus has been jolting Saturn in Sagittarius by square and by the year end the transitting Saturn Uranus opposition will be squaring his natal Saturn exactly. This particular planet in his chart is probably very important since it makes him highly sensitive and defensive about criticism.
His health appears to be suffering now with arthritis affecting his joints possibly as a result of dance strain confining him to a wheelchair and his skin peeling as a result of too many cosmetic surgical procedures.
He may pick up morale-wise as his Solar Arc conjuncts his 5th house Jupiter in three years time though on this birth time since it is a 5th house Jupiter (and Neptune conjunction) it could see him promoting one of ''his children''. Family patterns have an uncomfortable habit of rolling down the generations and his eldest ''son'' would then be 13/14, almost the same age as he was when he started performing solo. Though it''s a disturbing prospect thinking about how children raised in Michael Jackson''s delusional Neverland world will turn out.

Without an accurate birth time the angles or the Moon’s exact degree can’t be established. But other aspects are clear. As his stressful trial draws to a close he has been labouring under several months of challenging and confusing Pluto squares to midpoints. The jury’s verdict presumably will be declared in early June. His Moon could be involved in a Uranus conjunction if his birth time was early afternoon, suggesting a major emotional upset but the timing of that is not certain. Pluto does pick up a sociable Venus/Jupiter midpoint from June 21 for six weeks, hinting at a lighter mood. Though Saturn squares his Jupiter from July 1 to 7th, pointing to major financial cutbacks and it then proceeds to square Neptune in August from 1 to 8th, 2005, an undermining influence. Neptune returns to the opposition to Venus in July 05 which will be emotionally confusing and disappointing. His progressed (secondary) Mars in retrograde motion is square his natal Pluto at the moment, hitting the exact aspect in 2007, so he will feel under continuing and heavy pressure for some time to come. Saturn will conjunct his Uranus from July 2006 bringing jolting changes; then conjuncts his Venus bringing emotional separations in August 06; and his Mercury in December 06 with accompanying depression. Into 2007 Neptune squares Mars which is panicky, with a pervading sense of failure. In 2008 Uranus conjuncts Saturn which will force changes in his lifestyle abruptly with a devastating effect on his repuation and self image.
Looking back: Without a birth time the exact position of the Moon cannot be established, but Pluto was certainly conjunct Saturn through 2003, hitting exactly again 22nd November to 18th December as the latest allegation of child molestation surfaced leading to his arrest. This bleak, high stress influence repeated again mid July to mid October 2004. Since Saturn is tied into the Moon on his chart, this is a doubly heavy, discouraging transit, bringing a sense of complete paralysis both emotionally and professionally. Great changes will come only after considerable difficulty. He would be trying to hang on like crazy to something which external forces wished him to give up. He did attempt to tough it out, but typically this transit occurs when money, possesions or relationships on which he placed great value need to be relinquished. Any progress can only be made through extreme effort. Uranus also returned to oppose his Pluto through February 2004, and October/November 2004, rattling the bars of his iron control. It forced him to give up his driving compulsion to be in charge of his destiny and lifestyle. His lifestyle was turned upside down. At the same time Uranus was trine Neptune, a highly strung, de-stabilising combination. Then from April 2004 Uranus began a year long opposition of Uranus to his Virgo Sun, which also forced him to cope with sudden changes in his environment. It was jolting, disruptive, explosive and involved health problems.
MICHAEL JACKSON’S CHART:
A controlled and controlling, highly strung Virgo with Pluto close to his Sun, pop star Michael Jackson's greatest fear is of chaos, so he rigidly imposes his own rules on his lifestyle. His Moon in Pisces opposite his Sun (born on the Full Moon) suggests parents who were diametrically opposed in temperament. So in adult life he tends to swing from extreme to extreme, never feeling totally satisfied with anything or anyone. He wants what he does not have, and when he gets it promptly stops wanting it.
With Saturn in Sagittarius in square to both his Sun and Moon, he undoubtedly had a bleak childhood as one of the Jackson Five with no emotional support from either parent. Life was about survival at the most basic level. He perceived his parents as rigid, disciplinarian, rejecting and possessive which is a difficult combination to handle. He never felt an individual in his own right; his basic sense of identity never mind his self esteem obviously irrevocably damaged. This has made him obsessive, depressive, always feeling an outsider. Tragically but inevitably he is treating his own children in the same way as objects – ‘presents from his wife’ handed over like boxes of chocolates.
An emphasised and afflicted Saturn in Sagittarius gives him heightened fear of disapproval and deep resentment when he feels criticised. He is self righteous to a marked degree, insisting that everyone agree with his philosophy of life. He even imposes his own pathological need to wear a mask on his children, insisting their faces be covered at all times.
Jupiter close to Neptune is the signature of the fantasist, who wants to look charitable and kind, but is often hypocritical. He hides his darker side from others and probably himself. The writer, Laurens Van Der Post, whose sham of a life was only revealed after his death, shared this conjunction. In astrology it is known as the aspect of ‘false happiness’ so will be why Jackson’s Never Never Land was created, to give him a marshmallow land creation, where life is eternal Peter Pan make believe.
Venus in Leo gives a love of flamboyant display in parties and at home, a liking for children and in some individuals with this placing an over concern with sex. Close to Uranus, he is fickle in his affections, constantly switching on and off. With a square to Mars in earthy Taurus, he loathes interference in any form, and can be wilfully determined about fulfilling his own needs. Mars in Taurus is acquisitive with a strong desire for money. Like Venus in Leo it is also highly possessive, jealous, and sensual. Sexual jealousy can be a problem with Mars in Taurus. The square between Venus and Mars makes him emotionally sensitive, but not careful about the sensitivity of others. The placing of Mars and Venus perhaps explains much of his suggestive dance routines and crotch clutching; odd in someone who claims to be essentially asexual.
